Pentaho Metadata is a very powerful way of creating data that is easier to use for your business customers than making them learn SQL. Additionally it provides a single spot for managing formatting and data security. However, it’s easy to get into a position where you aren’t getting the data that you expect and need to figure out what the SQL requests are to the database.
There is currently no way to configure SQL logging via the User Console or the Enterprise Console, but you can turn on the tracing in log4j. Simply edit your log4j.xml file in the webapps/pentaho/WEB-INF/classes directory and add the following sections:
